About My Clients
2/1/24*CURRENTLY ACCEPTING CLIENTS* The clients I see right now are adult females who are struggling with any of the following issues: narcissistic abuse recovery, infertility, post partum depression/anxiety, parenting, lgbtq and identity concerns, religious abuse, chronic pain/illness and special needs parenting. I am currently not providing any marriage & family therapy or seeing any adolescents. I believe in the wounded healer approach and help you to see the beauty of your humanity.
My Background and Approach
When I start working with someone the most important goal for our first session is that their story be listened to, that they feel heard. At the end of every first session I try to tell you how I can help you, my ideas for your treatment and one or two tools that you can use to manage your symptoms before we meet again. There is nothing more frustrating to me than leaving a provider's office with a treatment plan but nothing to manage your symptoms until your next visit. This is why I try to teach you one or two coping skills for your symptoms. I believe that the client is the expert on their life and I am simply an observant fellow traveler.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a member of the LGBTQ community as well as the #metoo movement. I am passionate about Black Lives Matter and examining my own internalized racism. Body Positivity is very important to me and developing and embracing a deep loving acceptace for ourself and our body is critical in my mind. If you identify as a member of one of these communities I believe we have the potential to work well together.
