Hi! My name is Samantha and I am so happy that you’re here! Lets get in touch if you're ready to create a happier, more fulfilled life :)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Hermosa Beach, CA
I enjoy integrating mindfulness in my practice, and have found this to be effective in treating anxiety and trauma. The skills I teach are learned and practiced in session, with the goal of the client utilizing them outside of session.
Understanding someone’s culture, the relationship with that culture, and integrating culture when exploring self identity is essential. If my client is part of a certain culture, and wants to hold on to cultural values, I will be sure to educate myself as much as possible, in order to use culturally relevant treatment methods.
Our attachment styles are undoubtably impacted by the relationships we had with caregivers as a child. Learning why and how your needs went unmet, can assist us in making sure your needs are met now as an adult.
Our life consistists of constant ups and downs that can often feel impossible to navigate. Through my years as a clinician, I regularly met with people who were fearful of changes in their life. By processing the reason for change, along with the benefits and possibilities it brings. I’ve been able to assist my clients in navigating life in a way that feels more peaceful and free.
Having been both a provider and a patient, I understand just how life-consuming anxiety can feel. Through the use of ACT, and mindfulness-oriented modalities, you can begin to feel more at ease and in control.
I have worked at the UCLA Rape Treatment Center for almost 3 years, where I’ve had the pleasure of becoming a certified sexual assault counselor, crisis counselor, and therapist. Sexual trauma is my passion and always will be.
