About My Clients

Cultivating meaningful and sustainable change is something that is possible for everyone. Change is often uncomfortable, though you may be in a place where that discomfort is outweighed by the pain of your current experience. If that is the case, we may be a good fit! I invite folks to reach out if they are interested in learning more about what therapy with me would be like. I value the time spent getting to know new clients and would love to connect.

My Background and Approach

I have provided therapy for a range of ages and have worked in non-profit and private treatment centers, including as an advocate for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, intake therapist for an eating disorder facility, and trauma-focused therapist for a local organization. Prior to starting my private practice, I worked in higher levels of care as an individual and group therapist. My approach to counseling is interactive and based around fostering a strong and supportive therapeutic alliance. I utilize a person-centered and strengths-based approach with a systemic lens. I am passionate about working alongside individuals in the recovery process and helping them cultivate meaningful change. I believe in the uniqueness and strengths of all individuals and prioritize tailoring treatment specific to client needs. Within this framework, I utilize cognitive and behavioral strategies to help my clients take active steps toward their goals.

My Values as a Therapist

In my role as a therapist, I strive to connect my most important values of connection, compassion, and justice in every area of my work. Connecting with my clients and their values, experiences, and goals is vital in the work I do, and something that is part of my broader desire for justice at the individual, community, and societal level. Therapy does not happen in a vacuum, and it would be a disservice to my clients and my profession to be silent about the oppression and marginalization that is inherent in this country. Feeling safe is not something that is accessible to everyone, but my hope is to create a therapeutic space that feels safer than most.
