About My Clients
I work with adults across the board (all genders and ages). I work with couples and individuals. My clients are eager to figure out how to incorporate some alignment, some relief, and/or some compassion into their lives.
My Background and Approach
Okay, weird metaphors--really? Really. I honor my gut with what comes up, and I sometimes offer whatever metaphor comes to mind to help clients think about different actions, perspectives, or potential of their lives. Other pieces I pride myself in offering: Safe space for all. True compassion. Naming of patterns and themes that may or may not work in a person's life. Body awareness. Body kindness. Relationship skills. Speaking to the elephant in the room. I'm Level 3 trained in Relationship Life Therapy (for working with relationships), and I'm also EMDR trained (tackle problematic thoughts + beliefs + memories). I have a background of working with trauma, addiction, and adults of all ages.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in kindness, humor, community, and brave conversations. I really love honoring our interconnectedness and the chance to be a good part of another person's life. I also like rumbling with the hard parts of life. I believe in pushing beyond a diagnosis to the "so what?" I see most diagnoses as being along the spectrum of being human, including being natural responses to what we encounter in life. I believe in living my allyship with the LGBTQ community, which has been an important part of my life for 25+ years. I live out activism in a variety of other ways, too--politically, environmentally, and around mental health and substance use. I come from a multifaith background, including Catholicism, so I often relate and offer a lot of support to clients coming from those traditions or values, too. I also love handing out my #normalizetherapy stickers, left and right, so let me know if you need one--there's a spot for to request them for FREE on my website.
