About My Clients
Are you great at looking put together but privately struggling with overwhelming feelings or memories? I know how lonely this can be. I help high-functioning professionals who are struggling to feel whole. For some people I work with, there are traumas in the past still waiting to be healed. For others, the cause of your distress isn't clear - nothing obviously "bad" has happened. In either case, life isn't joyful or peaceful. But it doesn't have to be this way.
My Background and Approach
I believe that we all have a voice that guides us toward health and wholeness. Traumatic events or painful feelings can drown out this voice and make you feel prisoner in your own life. I have advanced training in multiple approaches and use them to help this voice speak in therapy. These include: Psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapy, somatic experiencing, yoga for trauma, EMDR and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). With these approaches, we can work to: Find the underlying causes of your overwhelm (Insight), gain perspective on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors (Self-Acceptance), reconnect you with parts of yourself you didn’t know were there (Return to Wholeness), and change your patterns in relationships with yourself and others (Agency). Through kind and thoughtful attention in therapy, your overwhelming feelings begin to make sense and resolve. Your connection to your deepest inner voice is restored so you can navigate life with greater ease.
