About My Clients
*I currently have only morning availability* Do you worry you're a disappointment to those you love? Do you feel constantly burdened by other's expectations? Are you caught between who you want to be and what your family expects from you? When we grow up in families with rigid definitions of success, it can be hard to even recognize the constant stress and pressure we're under... until we crack. If you're feeling overwhelmed and ready to dig into the roots of your anxiety, I'm here for you.
My Background and Approach
In therapy, my goal is to connect deeply and meaningfully, but also to allow you to feel comfortable and share openly about any aspect of your life. In my 5 years of experience in mental health, I have found that by accepting a client as who they are and recognizing their potential to grow, we are able to achieve real change together. I practice what I like to call “soft CBT.” CBT is well-researched and has been proven to effect change, but practiced rigidly, it can feel dismissive of individual circumstances. I blend CBT with my background in trauma and attachment theory in order to support the whole person: their history, relationships, and present circumstances.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an immigrant myself, I enjoy working with immigrant and 2nd / 3rd generation clients who experience the heavy pressure of familial expectations. I have significant clinical experience working with a range of clients from different backgrounds; diverse ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, immigration statuses, and sexual orientation & gender identities are welcome in my practice.
