About My Clients
Clients who see me often struggle with shame-based core beliefs, sensitivity and "big feelings," and distressing relationship patterns due to unresolved trauma and relational harm. They often have a history of complex trauma, family conflict, and insecure attachment patterns. I help my clients assemble complex emotions, embody more connected ways of being, and access their own wholeness.
My Background and Approach
I provide an attuned, consistent presence in the lives of my clients and utilize a combination of attachment-based and somatic approaches to help them experience connection and develop insight. My orientation is relational in nature and I draw from my own lived experience when appropriate for the client. Together, we tap into the healing capacity of the body, the power of creative expression, and the meaningful haven of relationship. I draw upon my unique background as a yoga teacher and writer to offer my clients invitations to move and speak from their own wisdom. I believe my role as a counselor is in providing the conditions for this self-reclamation to take place. Every person possesses a unique story of hope and resilience; it is my privilege to steward to these stories, believe in them, witness them, and encourage my clients to draw upon their inner knowing and the "depths from which their life springs," to quote Rilke.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a writer, post-lineage yoga teacher, and person in long-term recovery who believes in the vitality of therapeutic work in enriching our capacity for connection. It is my intention to approach the therapeutic relationship with great respect and curiosity for both the human experience and how my clients choose to live it. I am trained in Internal Family Systems Level 1 and bring this framework of holistic care into the therapeutic process. This approach is non-pathologizing by nature and rests on a therapeutic relationship that is inherently collaborative, compassionate, and horizontal. My goal is to see you through your own eyes, and together explore ways of being that foster connectedness.
