About My Clients
People often experience a painful preoccupation with their relationship with themselves and their body after trauma. My work includes a trauma-informed, feminist, queer-affirming, fat-positive approach to help you build a compassionate, intuitive relationship to yourself, welcoming all the different parts of you. My passion is in helping clients overcome experiences of sexual trauma and body shame, while helping them build a compassionate relationship to their body along the way.
My Background and Approach
I'm honored to hold space for all the parts of you that show up in session - the confusing, angry, grieving, optimistic, and curious parts - that have helped you survive thus far, and help relieve them of the pain they've been carrying. My mindful, creative, and strengths-based approach, training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) and IFS (Internal Family Systems, or "Parts Work"), and incorporating somatic awareness techniques allows me to help in a way that fits for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we're all doing the best we can with what we have, and that life experiences and systems of power around us greatly impact our ability to remember that. If you're a trauma survivor, and/or are struggling with body shame, I'm here to help. The nature of trauma can feel chaotic, scary, and like having your choice taken away. We'll work together to build safe, grounding resources and I'll help you process the trauma in a way that is safe, contained, and where you can restore your sense of choice. My skills have been utilized within an agency specializing in serving survivors of sexual violence as well as private practice. I have spoken both locally and nationally about sexual trauma, PTSD, and incorporating a size-inclusive approach to treatment.
