About My Clients
Life hasn't been the same lately, especially for those with new responsibilities. Managing your life, let alone others', has become daunting . Control is now lost and you're not even sure how to 'show up' for your family at times. My clients often benefit from an emphasis on learning skills and increasing motivation when needed. These strategies allow us to manage the challenges of becoming a new father (or parent), manage stress, and prevent relapse from substances when applicable.
My Background and Approach
Therapy is an interactive process between client and therapist. My style is to be direct with you, while also aligning with your goals and values. In our sessions, we will tailor to your strengths so that you can utilize skills that can help with managing anxiety, mood, and stress. Above all, I enjoy staying present/attending to the individuals that I help in therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in being non-judgmental, empathetic, curious, and authentic as a therapist. The hope brought into my sessions is that everyone can strive towards their potential. At the same time, there are instances when we need to focus on surviving and getting through the day (or moment). My values that I bring into my practice are curiosity, courage, healing, and equality among other things. I consider myself an ally to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of color), the LGBTQ+ community, and other marginalized groups. That said, I understand that I have experienced privilege as a white male and will not always get it all right. I will do my best to learn from mistakes.
