I am currently seeing individual adults and in the context of their relationships (mono, or poly), as well as children, adolescents, and teens, in the context of their families. My Background and Approach
I work intersubjectively through a postmodern lens with an emphasis on empowerment. This means that I remain cognizant of all the crucial elements coming into the room, including your unique experience and how my presence interacts with it. Dogma is not a part of my practice. While past theories have insisted on the therapist as expert, I believe that you are the expert of your life and that my job is to assist you in (re)discovering yourself. There are many options. We just need to find the best one for your needs. Social justice is a primary focus for my practice. I will help you to deconstruct the dominant discourses that have been a disservice in your life while helping you to create new narratives that will allow you to build the life you've always wanted... the life you deserve.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I hold a master's degree in Applied Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles. My focus has been on social justice with an emphasis on LGBTQ+Affirmative therapies. I worked as a rehabilitation practitioner with folks who suffer from severe and persistent mental illness, a therapist for people making strides toward eradicating stigma surrounding HIV, and as an intake counselor at various agencies. I am sex-positive. I am led by synchronicity and the teachings of Carl Jung. I support holistic healing, which means that I will encourage you to seek many other avenues toward betterment. Therapy is only one piece to the puzzle that is you.
