About My Clients
I service individuals, couples and families with a wide range of mental illnesses or related issues. I am a collaborative therapist that utilize dialogue to assist clients with learning to cope with their difficulties and creating meaningful goals. I love being creative in sessions utilizing a playful side when appropriate. I enjoy working with young adults because I feel they are in a phase of life where things can be difficult and there is still time to mold great coping practices.
My Background and Approach
I have been trained in the field of Marriage and Family therapy. I gained my B.S in Psychology at the University of New Orleans and later my M.S in Psychology with a concentration in individuals, couples and families at Our Lady of the Lake University. In a typical session I utilize many approaches some being Collaborative and Solution Focused. I have worked in many diverse locations such as community clinics, psychiatric hospitals, in homes, homeless shelters and within schools.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the client is the expert in their lives and I am with them throughout their journey to achieve goals that they have created. I believe with practice anyone can become the person that they want to return to or the person that they want to be. Being creative inside of my therapy office helps the client to learn new things about themselves to help with growth and new learned skills.
