About My Clients
Have your depression and/or anxiety symptoms been overwhelming you lately? Do you use the word 'stress' too many times each day? Are you working to recover from a traumatic event? Together, you and I can figure out what's going on and work on ways for you to begin to feel better. By utilizing grounding, thought-changing techniques, and behavior activation you can reduce your negative feelings, improve your outlook, and enjoy life more fully.
My Background and Approach
The skills and techniques you will learn in our sessions can be used in most settings and situations. The goal is for you to achieve greater independence, allowing you to better cope with any current or future problems. You will have access to exercises that can provide you with immediate symptom relief. I have attended many trainings on how to help my clients living with anxiety, emotional dysregulation, depression and trauma, and have over six years of positively utilizing these learned skills with my clientele. I bring years of life experience and insight into my professional work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all humans have the capacity to make positive changes to their lives. We sometimes need a listening ear and empathy from others in order to feel empowered to make those changes, and I will provide both for you during our sessions. You will not be judged during our time together, and you will always be treated with kindness and respect. I do not sit in judgment of others and believe in inclusivity for all. I participate in marches and activities that support the LGBTQ community and the Black Lives Matter movement. I am a staunch feminist and am active in Women's March Chicago activities.
