My journey in becoming a psychotherapist began in walking alongside young women who had been victims of human trafficking. Their strength, courage, and hope for their future inspired me to help others in need and I have continued to have the privilege of diving into some of the most difficult struggles in a person’s life including depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, and divorce.
My approach is to cultivate and identify strengths within you to utilize for this journey. You have more precious gems than you may know that you are designed and equipped with! This is integrated with cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) which helps understand how thoughts, feelings, and your behaviors are all intertwined and play a part in breaking negative patterns that may have been created. I also utilize trauma-focused CBT, EMDR (W-2) Trained, psychodynamic, solution-focused, and family systems approaches depending on what is most relevant for each person.
