Hi! I'm Simi Bhaurla! I work with a diverse group of clients who range from having anxiety to psychosis. I love helping others change!!
Associate Professional Clinical Counselor in Los Gatos, CA
Supervised by Dr. Thomas Lucking, LMFT
DBT helps clients with emotional regulation, interpersonal skills, mindfulness, and distress tolerance. This is another type of therapy that is homework-based and there are so many skills to learn!
CBT is my favorite type of therapy. I start off with the basics to understand the thinking pattern of a client and we progress into learning how to change the thoughts in a more positive way. This type is homework-based, but never too much. A lot of the work will be done outside of the session and we discuss what's occurred during the session
I use the addiction model and emphasize relapse prevention planning, crisis planning, exploring triggers and early warning signs, and utilizing supports as much as possible.
I have extensive experience with depression and use CBT to help clients overcome and manage their depressive symptoms. I help clients find the motivation to change the way they live their life with a warm yet challenging way. Depression is tough and I am here to help with that.
I have been treating clients with anxiety and related disorders since 2015. I also have personal experience with anxiety, which motivated me to become a therapist. I have helped clients understand the cause of their anxiety and learn effective coping skills. I typically use CBT techniques to help people with anxiety which helps change the perspective of how we see things going on in our lives.
I have been working in substance use/addiction since 2014. I continue to expand my knowledge and obtain as much information as I possibly can to make sure I can best serve anyone who is struggling with this issue. I have seen addiction issues in almost every aspect of my life and have a very strong passion for being the person who supports anyone who is struggling with addiction. I help clients learn and understand their triggers and ways they can cope with them to help overcome their addiction.
