Clinical Social Worker in Portland, OR
I enjoy doing family work and supporting families in gaining more connection, understanding of each person's perspective and experience, and learning how to more effectively cope with conflict. Learning and understanding each other's triggers, reactions, and patterns can be highly informative and begin more empathetic processes and desired changes.
There are multiple layers and intersections to our identities. I have a background in social work and often view issues through social justice lens. There are so many factors which impact our identities and I enjoy getting the opportunity to support people experiencing these struggles.
Understanding how our thinking, feeling, and behavior patterns impact us and our mental health is necessary to change one's negative thoughts and feelings. We can change some of those patterns which impact us in negative ways.
I have experience working with youth and adults who are experiencing depressive symptoms with a range of severity.
I have experience working with youth and adults who have experienced significantly traumatic events and struggle to cope with trauma symptoms and living the life they want to more fully live.
I have worked with teens for 15+ years in a variety of roles. I have worked with pre-teens and teens in a therapeutic role for 5 years. I really enjoy supporting teens navigate all the complexities of their identity, symptoms, family, and social aspects of life.
