About My Clients
We all get stuck sometimes and need some help untangling our thoughts and emotions. There’s a part of you that desperately wants change, and another part that is terrified. You’re exhausted listening to the chorus of “shoulds” and “should nots” that are calling the shots about what a good life would look like. There are some painful things that happened to you that are hard to talk about - you know they still affect you but you’re not even sure where to begin to process through them.
My Background and Approach
I am committed to creating a nonjudgmental space where we can be curious about how your life led to who you today, and how you want to move forward. Together we can untangle the thoughts that trip you up, work on befriending all parts of who you are, and work towards finding a more hopeful and joyful experience of life. I truly believe there are no bad feelings, and everything from anger to depression to anxiety has something to teach us about your experience of the world. We will identify unhelpful thoughts, and learn to feel the full range of emotion. I offer EMDR to identify and process through painful experiences, and then strengthen your ability to live with joy and intention free from the affects of trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are all, at our core, good, kind, strong people. And I also know that life is hard, terrible things happen that we cannot control, and we are driven to extremes to try and manage and survive what's been thrown at us. No one deserves to be alone in their suffering, and we all at times need help to find a way out of a dark season. I want you to know that no matter how your story has unfolded until today, you have the ability to write beauty and joy and freedom and peace into it. If it feels impossible and too painful to hope for a brighter chapter or see yourself as a good person deserving of love and happiness, I would be so honored to hold those beliefs for you until you are ready to own them.
