I support clients accept hard and uncomfortable thoughts and feelings and situations that can't be changed and assist them in reconnecting with life values and goals to move beyond symptom management. To do that, I assist in exploring and co-creating an actionable plan in life areas that are important to them. They may include relationships, health, career, finance, education, recreation/hobbies, spirituality, and community. Paradoxically, focusing on accepting heavy feelings and taking steps towards values and goals may lead to feeling better in addition to living more meaningfully.
In terms of personal style, I'm direct, kind, respectful, humble, and I appreciate infusing a sense of humor when the right opportunity presents itself. I wholeheartedly believe that the therapeutic relationship anchors the therapeutic work, so to that end- developing and nurturing a genuine relationship is a priority and thought of throughout treatment.
