About My Clients
My typical client is a strong woman. She can do all things and she takes care of everyone in her life. She rarely asks for help. She is smart, hardworking, and exceptional. She is also exhausted, sad and lonely. She feels lost, broken and increasingly resentful of those she loves which makes her feel guilty. Sometimes she has thoughts of escaping her life which can lead to feelings of shame. If you share any of these feelings, you don't have to suffer alone. I can help.
My Background and Approach
I have a PhD in Counseling Psychology and I have over 20 years of experience doing therapy and have clocked thousands of clinical hours at hospitals, community clinics and private practice. I have also trained, supervised and mentored other therapists for years. In my therapeutic work, I lean towards interpersonal and humanistic orientation, but I integrate various therapy models and interventions (Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy etc) into clinical work depending on the needs of the client. While I work with a variety of clinical issues, my specializations are: alcohol and substance abuse, grief, relationship issues and work-related stressors including burnout and toxic work environments.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
“I believe in treating each client as an individual, honoring the fact that everyone has unique strengths and unique challenges.”
