About My Clients
Do you wish parenting came with a manual? Can you imagine what it would be like to have a relationship with your children that had less stress and conflict? Bottom line, you want your family to feel more connected. I am passionate about helping children and families feel good about their relationship to each other. I understand how to focus on the specific changes you and your family need to build healthy relationships with each other and out in the world.
My Background and Approach
As a clinical social worker, my approach is rooted in understanding my clients in the framework of their environment. This holistic view encompasses family, social, economic, physical, cultural, and spiritual experiences. I strive to build an authentic connection with each of my clients and utilize a "strength-based approach" as a means to see opportunities and solutions rather than problems and emotional discomfort. My aim is to engage with my clients in a collaborative effort to find sustainable change through growth and learning experiences. My primary areas of clinical focus are trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, relationship issues, family issues, parenting, and child development. I strive to make this process one that feels natural and collaborative. I invite you to enter the relaxed and open-minded setting I provide and allow me to hear your struggles.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My ongoing education in anti-racism is the bedrock from which I work. Using my foundational training as a social worker, I value the use of social justice in my practice. I work to maintain awareness of societal oppression and biases as a means of understanding and providing treatment on a holistic level. An important goal of mine is to practice cultural humility and to radically accept that more than one truth can exist. With this, I maintain an ongoing dedication to providing comfort for a diverse range of clients- racially, culturally and for the LGBTQIA+ community.
