I have worked extensively with historical and intergenerational trauma which I approach from a culturally informed, neurologically based, systems perspective. Using psychoeduation, compassionate inquiry, and creative tools like Genograms we gain insight and understanding into how the past has influenced who you are today, and the tools we can use to empower the choices you make in the present and the future.

Our adolescent years are filled with big changes and can be tough to navigate. Today's fast passed tech world has changed the social and emotional landscape for adolescents and teens in profound ways. Increasingly, kids are finding it difficult to navigate some of these unchartered territories leading to more social anxiety, cumpulsion disorders, and teen depression than ever. Treatment has a high success rate- they don't have to suffer without help.

To all of you worriers, catastraphizers, and overthinkers, I see you and I understand the impact these patterns have on our lives. To those of you highly affected by other peoples' reactions and opinions, I know how you feel. We will together to understand what is causing these challenges. You will learn what is happening in your brain and body, and how to empower yourself and gain a sense of control in your life.

There are a wide and vast variety of treatment options because there are a wide and vast variety of individuals and experiences. We are all unique, with our our own specific story. There is no one size fits all approach to therapy. when designing a treatment plan, I am guided by each clients personality, therapy goals, and individual strengths. From there, we choose the most appropriate therapy modality/modalities to use in treatment.

Incorporating each clients individual cultural background is fundamental in understanding a clients experience in the world. Who we are, what we believe, our cultural norms, our gender, age, generation- all of these details define how we see, and are seen in the world. Having an understanding of the world through the clients perspective is crucial in therapy.

CBT is what as known as an empirically based practice. Meaning, it has been proven to yield successful results time and time again. In other words, we know it works for most people! I utilize tools and techniques from CBT with most of my clients. They are especially effective with my adolescent and teen clients. Plus, they are easy to learn and can be practiced at home.

Depression can drain the color from our lives and leave us feeling exhausted and unfulfilled. You may not know why you are depressed or even feel guilty for being depressed because when you compare your life to others, you feel like you "should" be happy. I have experience with depression, I have been there and I know what it is like to lack motivation and to feel alone. We will work together to explore the source of your struggles in a safe, nonjudgmental space as we let the light back in.

I work with with people in all kinds of relationships from monogomous marital, polyamorous, to open marriages to find deeper connection and satisfaction.
