About My Clients
I enjoy working with clients who are curious about themselves and the world, who struggle to feel understood or accepted, and who worry they must be correct or perfect in order to be loved. Clients who connect well with me want to dig deeper into the big questions of life while also achieving quick relief from their worst symptoms.
My Background and Approach
My approach blends here-and-now approaches that offer quick relief from the worst symptoms (think relationship ruining habits, severe panic attacks, suicidality, not being able to get out of bed) with approaches that invite us to slow down and look at the narrative of your life and how the past might be contributing to your current struggle. I enjoy learning by supervising other therapists, attending trainings, and consulting with other therapists. I tailor treatment to the individual, meaning if one technique is not working, I have other ways to help you approach the problem.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a proud supporter of Health at Every Size and body neutrality/positivity movements. I stand with Black Lives Matter and believe in the importance of exploring the impact of oppressive systems (family, societal, political and others) on mental health.
