About My Clients
I approach therapy with a focus on supporting diverse individuals, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and migrant communities. I’m particularly passionate about advocating for Latinx and BIPOC folks, especially regarding queer issues and the stigma they face. Using a blend of methods like CBT, DBT, and mindfulness, I create a safe space where clients feel understood and valued. My aim is to empower you to navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and foster meaningful change.
My Background and Approach
In my counseling practice, I integrate effective therapeutic modalities like CBT, DBT, compassion-focused therapy, narrative therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness, and psychoeducation. I believe in blending these approaches to meet each client's unique needs, with psychoeducation empowering insights into the mind-body connection. You’ll find an open, non-judgmental space where your comfort and pace guide our journey. I provide supportive yet challenging feedback to help you achieve your goals. With a trauma-focused lens and an emphasis on collaboration, we’ll navigate your experiences together, with you as the expert and me as your compassionate guide. I look forward to walking alongside you on your healing journey and fostering resilience and meaningful change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Mexican American, Latina therapist, I see firsthand how systemic injustice affects our well-being, along with the persistent stigma around mental health. This understanding fuels my commitment to integrating social and reparative justice into my work. While it’s essential to uplift our communities, we also need to remember to take care of ourselves. So often, we’re expected to put others first, leaving our own needs behind. In my therapy practice, I strive to create a warm and safe space where you can invest in yourself, challenge the stigma, and prioritize your own mental health and happiness.
