About My Clients
I enjoy working with people to help them develop greater understanding, and hopefully alleviate some distress or at least help to more effectively manage. I currently work with adults and young adults. I aim to work collaboratively with clients/patients. Additionally, I have a passion for issues of (cultural) diversity and consider the intersectionality of identities in my work. My current caseload is mostly Asian American professionals of many intersecting identities
My Background and Approach
My clinical training was based in the SF Bay Area, serving its highly diverse population. I've worked in hospital, outpatient, residential, crisis, and school settings. I am psychodynamically oriented and may incorporate evidence based practices (such as cognitive behavioral therapy) into my work as appropriately indicated. Additionally, I take into consideration factors related to culture and diversity. Let’s take a look at what’s going on for you in the here and now. Is there anything in the here and now that may be triggering an experience, or experiences, from your past? If so, let’s help you understand how the past may be influencing your present. How do your past experiences influence your current perspectives and actions? By developing this self-awareness, we enact behavior change and alleviate distress. Another way we enact behavior change is by taking a look at factors in the here and now that we can change to alleviate distress and help you manage more effectively.
