About My Clients
I care about your well-being because your happiness and mental health is my passion. I can help you understand and change the negative patterns that contribute to your emotional distress. I’ll teach you innovative techniques to enhance your mood, improve your relationships, and live a happier, more meaningful life. As a former corporate high-tech employee, an immigrant, and an LGBTQ person of color, I can relate to many of your struggles.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy over the last decade has been holistic. I learned Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from Dr. David Burns. I am a team lead at his weekly Stanford class. For 20+ years, I’ve taught mindfulness meditation. I was a Dale Carnegie career coach. I collaborate with primary care physicians to create integrated treatments for teens and adults. I received a B.Sc in Engineering from UCLA and an MS in Management from Stanford. I spent many years at tech companies, where I observed colleagues struggling emotionally with work, discrimination and relationship challenges. All of my career experiences have contributed to the pursuit of my passion: helping people make the changes they seek in their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a former corporate high-tech employee, an immigrant, and an LGBTQ person of color, I can relate to many of your struggles. I am active in different organizations to promote equal rights for all so that we can have a stronger and more equitable society. It can be difficult to choose a therapist who is right for you. Besides their credentials and clinical training, you should feel comfortable with the therapist. You may also want to find out whether the therapist has experience working with issues concerning you. For instance, you may ask if the therapist has worked with LGBTQ couples, people of color, parenting issues, sexual dysfunction, immigrants, or adolescents with panic attacks or OCD.
