About My Clients
I got into this work in order to decolonize therapy and serve BIPOC/AAPI queer folx, including children and teens, who hold a myriad of identities that may feel at odds with one another. I also serve sex workers, those in the kink community, and poly folx. I love to work with those who feel stuck between many different worlds and don’t fit into a single, neat box and want to be okay with that. People who've been told that they are "too much" or "not enough".
My Background and Approach
Growing up in the Bay Area, I’ve always struggled to find support from those who looked like me or had similar stories to me. That’s why I got into this work. My approach to therapy is integrative, strength based, and trauma informed and I tailor the experience to your specific needs. My belief in therapy is that it’s not to “fix you” or to make you more palatable to others. It’s to help guide you in navigating the many many aspects of yourself and to heal and connect with your values and to help you to be authentically you. I work through talk therapy and with elements of the expressive arts woven throughout. I will see you as a whole, unique, and beautifully complex individual. We will dive deep into your internal processes with curiosity and compassion and discover your story. I will help you to rewrite parts you want to rewrite. Reclaim parts you want to reclaim.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship between a therapist and their client. Shared values and life experiences enrich this relationship and adds an element of safety and reassurance that you might not get with a therapist that acts completely as a blank slate. Therapists are not a "one size fits all" situation. Authenticity is important to me and a genuine connection between me and my client. I cannot expect you to be real with me if I can't be real with you.
