About My Clients
My doctoral level training makes me an ideal fit for couples who are experiencing distress in their relationship and are looking for ways to reconnect, manage conflict better, and enjoy the benefits of a healthy and lasting intimate relationship. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with individual clients with trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, depression, and/or relationship problems. My approach is a good fit for clients seeking time-limited, intensive, and effective treatment.
My Background and Approach
I completed my doctorate (Ph.D.) in clinical psychology at the University of Houston. My graduate research was focused on treatment for distressed couples as well as risk factors and treatment for domestic violence (DV). I have co-authored numerous publications and professional presentations focused on the topics of couple therapy and DV. I also received extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I completed year-long APA accredited predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship programs within the VA system, which provided intensive training on evidence-based psychotherapies for couples and individuals. I bring years of experience into the therapy room, AND I believe that you are the expert on your life. My approach to therapy is a collaboration between the two of us, working together to identify your values, gain greater insight, and improve your relationships with the people you care about most.
