My Background and Approach
My focus is helping couples emotionally reconnect and better manage their conflicts through utilizing effective communication skills. I utilize the SYMBIS assessment for premarital counseling to help couples gain better understanding of each other while identifying sensitive topics that could potentially become major issues following the wedding day. I evaluate the mental, emotional, spiritual and cultural contexts of each individual using an integrative therapy approach offering empathy. I understand that each individual is unique and am sensitive to diverse cultural groups. The therapy process is about identifying YOUR goal and generating a treatment plan that best fits your situation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every individual deserves to be happy and I will go along your journey to help you figure out if your current relationship is the right one for you. Helping individuals become aware of unhealthy and dysfunctional patterns is the primary step towards promoting healthier coping strategies. As a Christian counselor, I integrate Biblical passages, scriptures, and parables as needed by my clients upon request. I strongly believe that aside from my religious beliefs, everyone deserves the opportunity to seek comfort through their own spirituality. On a personal level, I have developed a strong relationship with God and felt His presence and blessings in my life. My trust in God has led me to helping others that experience distress in their daily lives and relationships. Again, I am not here to impose my personal values, but to help you discover yours and how best to incorporate them in your lives so you can begin to feel better.
