About My Clients
If depression, anxiety, trauma, or relationship problems interfere with your quality of life, you may feel as though there is no hope, you cannot stop worrying, you regularly experience confusing thoughts and emotions, or you have trouble feeling close to your partner. I am passionate about this work, because I know it is painful to feel depressed, anxious, and disconnected, and I know it is possible - and extremely rewarding - to discover peace and fulfillment.
My Background and Approach
I work with clients who have experienced relational, situational, and/or complex trauma - in other words, both big "T" and little "t" traumas - as well as with symptoms of depression and anxiety that may be related to a variety of life challenges, such as relationship problems, life transitions, and societal pressures. I am a fully trained EMDR therapist and also draw from the frameworks of Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other mind and body based interventions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all humans seek to be connected and vulnerable, but harmful things happen - either in society or within our family - that disrupt our natural longing to belong to ourselves and others. I hope for a world where all identities are fully seen, heard, supported, and loved, and I orient my therapeutic approach to this hopefulness, because I believe that no matter who you are, you are inherently valuable and therefore inherently deserving of kindness, compassion, safety, and healing.
