About My Clients

People seek therapy for so many reasons, but mostly we all want to feel loved, safe & understood. We want to feel a sense purpose & feel good enough as we are & yet so many of us struggle to feel these ways. Sometimes our lives look very different than we imagined & we need help making sense out of things. We might be feeling disconnected or numb, uncertain or alone. We might be questioning who we are or the direction we are heading & need to find some clarity, perspective or hope.

My Background and Approach

I enjoy working with individuals & couples who embody a strong curiosity & commitment to learning how to heal their hearts, minds and spirits & to feel genuine connection to themselves and others. I am a trauma-informed, relational, psychodynamic therapist who views their work with patients through a feminist, queer, LGBTQ-affirmative and anti-racist lens. Although not exclusively, I specialize in working with expansive sexualities & non-monogamous relationship structures, gender non-conformity & queerness. I love working with all kinds of relationships ie: sexual, romantic, professional, friendship, family. Mindful awareness & radical self-acceptance are cornerstones in both my own life and my work. My pre-therapist background is in the arts and queer & feminist studies. I very much enjoy working with other creative folks and/or those exploring existential themes surrounding meaning & purpose, grief & loss, identity, & how to have more fulfilling authentic relationships with others.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we all heal in safe relationships with others, including our own unique & sacred relationship with our therapist. I am committed to helping my clients feel less alone & to accessing a greater awareness and connection to their personal agency. I believe wholeheartedly in everyone’s capacity to love, heal & thrive - yes, even you. I aim to provide a safe & connected space for my clients to explore what gives their lives meaning, value, & purpose. My approach is warm, direct, non-judgmental, & compassionate. I invite all big feelings, rigorous curiosity, self-compassion, & risk-taking. I am equally interested in what causes you pain as I am in what makes you laugh. Your strengths & abilities to feel & heal hold the same weight as your beautiful darkness, fears, & confusion. I don't believe we are here to be fixed, but rather to be understood, both within ourselves and with others. I am myself a forever learner and I truly believe being a therapist is an honor and a privilege.
