About My Clients

I focus on clients who have experienced relational trauma, childhood sexual abuse, challenges in the area of toxic and dysfunctional relationship patterns, childhood, adolescent, and adult anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I work with individuals, youth, couples (monogamous, polyamorous, etc.), and LGBTQ+ subpopulations.

My Background and Approach

I am a trauma-informed therapist who approaches counseling from an eclectic view and uses a few different therapeutic frameworks such as ecological, psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and strength-based perspectives. I believe healing began when we address the root causes of why we behave, respond and react to our current situations. Helping clients define the root causes of their depression, anxiety, and trauma is paramount to healing. In our sessions we will look at your treatment from an ecological and historical approach, addressing trends in current relationships that may be a result of past trauma. Once we discover the causes of the emotional and mental distress, we then find strategies and interventions to assist with creating new narratives of health and wholeness.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe our lives are shaped by our experiences. Especially our experiences in early childhood which give us the definition of our core beliefs. Our early experiences teach us to be good or indifferent towards ourselves, others, and the world. They shape how we see ourselves, how we perceive others in relationships, and how we essentially view the world. Unfortunately, many of us have had experiences that haven't been so fulfilling and it influences our social, interpersonal, and romantic relationships. It influences how we feel about ourselves, our confidence and self-worth may be based on those early experiences. I am not a therapist because I have a good education and I love the field. I became a good therapist because the issues that I assist my clients in overcoming are the issues I personally experienced. I am a survivor of childhood trauma. I have personally experienced healing from depression, anxiety, and panic. Helping others heal is a personal passion.
