About My Clients
LGBTQI clients 13 years and older living with mental health symptoms of: anxiety, autism, bi polar I and II, borderline personality, depression, gender and sexual identity struggles or discovery, and dissociative identity disorders. I provide skill based therapy (EMDR, DBT, CBT, MI, meditation mindfulness, worksheets and handouts) and psychotherapy (talk based discovery). Art, meditation, singing, and other physical techniques are used to work with accessing a clients change skills.
My Background and Approach
Tanya Atkinson Completed her Advanced Standing Masters in Social Work with a Concentration in Mental Health Counseling Services in 2020 at the University of Washington. Tanya has a history of working with LGBTQI, People with Disabilities, of all ages and Older Adults for 5 years at nonprofit organizations: Alliance of People with Disabilities in King County providing resource, individual counseling and group session; and Homage Senior Services an organization that provides support to Seniors and People with Disabilities in Snohomish County. Her internship was in Behavior Health with at a community health center providing individual and group therapy, for SUD (Substance Use Disorder), DBT (Dialectic Behavior Therapy), and general counseling services in Everett and Lynnwood. Tanya identifies with LGBTQI or Gay community, and humbly provides services to all ethnic/racial, and gender identities whether they identify as Gay/Queer or heterosexual.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
With a back ground in Social Work, medical care giving/assistant service, and social justice I believe that providing holistic counseling services. This includes recognizing where a clients is from, the community or family (chosen and biological) history, socioeconomic status,
