About My Clients

Are you looking for more self-insight & awareness? More connection to what you believe in or what your value? More intimacy, depth, and authenticity with your partner? I know and deeply appreciate the power of: "I hear you and I see you, and you are not alone." This is the essence of counseling. Together in relationship we can dive into the ecosystem that is your attachment history, hopes and dreams, survival mechanisms, and the multilayered lenses through which you view the world.

My Background and Approach

Sustainable therapeutic work requires safety because it asks for vulnerability and risk-taking. I consider the creation of a safe relationship to be my primary task in our work together. I find joy in nurturing an environment where you can experience any emotion or thought without shame or judgment. I've personally experienced being unable to trust my own thoughts, emotions, or behavior. It's an isolating experience. A counselor acts as anchor (offering grounding stability) and as mirror (reflecting back compassion you may have for others but not yourself). I'm thrilled that you're looking into counseling as supportive inquiry into your own complexity.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone, and I mean everyone, is doing the best they can with the knowledge and experiences they have. The field of mental health counseling is a perfect fit for this philosophy. I have experience working with folks who are survivors of sexual and interpersonal violence, as well as adults and teenagers who have perpetrated sexual and interpersonal violence. Regardless of history, every person needs and deserves respect, love, hope, and second (or nineteenth) chances. I believe that human beings are similar to the rest of the animal kingdom in our ancient, hard won ability to survive. As we process or work to understand the pain you have witnessed or felt, just as important is to acknowledge your enduring resilience. I am deeply passionate about normalizing and celebrating vulnerability/emotional expression, particularly at the intersection of masculinity.
