About My Clients
I am an honorably discharged veteran of the US Air Force. From my own experiences in the military, I have a continued heart of service and love working with my fellow veterans. I also have experience being a human going through life and find so much fulfillment walking the path with others who may be struggling. I've been there before myself and know what it took for me to "get through the suck" and became a counselor to help others get through it too.
My Background and Approach
I integrate evidence-based, trauma informed practices, humor, and authenticity to help promote healing. I have training in several different modalities and can tailor counseling to fit who you are as a person. You are the expert of your life, I am the expert of how to make counseling work for you! If you couldn't tell by my profile so far, I march to the beat of my own drum. What does that mean for you? I'm glad you asked...I can teach you skills to help get through the day, but I think we all deserve more than just that. I do my best to offer deeper soul healing by getting to the root of what you may be dealing with and then working through how to offer healing to yourself with my help. Still not sure? My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in social justice and equity. Although I identify as a White, cisgender, heterosexual, female, I am a fierce ally to the LGBTQIA+ and other minority communities. I don't have all the answers, I get it wrong sometimes (many times), but I am always striving to be better. I believe in being teachable and open to hard truths and constructive criticisms. I believe in amplifying voices that have been silenced and offering my humility as a student of the world. I will always strive to treat you with equity and equality but know that the world isn't set up to offer you the same. I promise to never lose sight of this. I am committed to doing my part to work towards these values inside of our sessions and out.
