About My Clients

Do you ever feel like you are living for others rather than for yourself? Do you feel unworthy of love or acceptance? Do you ever feel afraid to be your true self? If that last question made you pause and wonder, "Wait, who IS my true self?", you're not alone. You are worthy of love and acceptance. I'm here to help you move beyond the unhelpful stories about yourself influenced by others in order to make space for your most authentic self.

My Background and Approach

I practice from a person-centered narrative approach and believe that all clients have the power to re-author their stories. I prioritize what clients bring to the room (their experiences, culture, community, and strengths) and value a collaborative counseling relationship. I believe that we all have the inner strength to grow but sometimes get “stuck” in prior narratives that no longer serve us. I work to help clients challenge these narratives and re-write ones that align with their values and showcase their strengths so that they may live more authentically. I am passionate about Health at Every Size and dismantling diet culture, fatphobia, and weight stigma so that clients can foster a strong mind-body connection and cultivate a positive relationship with food, movement, and their bodies. I combine compassionate listening and genuine validation with psychoeducational resources to ensure that clients have the tools needed to transform both inside and outside of sessions.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I acknowledge that mental health struggles are not an individual issue but rather a collective one and that systems of oppression play a huge role in mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. For that reason, my work extends beyond client sessions and includes advocacy, self-reflection, activism, and learning. I believe that eating disorders are a social justice issue and am dedicated to challenging weight stigma, fatphobia, white supremacy, and mental health care inequality. I am also an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community and am dedicated to providing compassionate identity-affirming care as well as community resources. Outside of sessions, you'll find me grabbing coffee with friends, staying home with my partner and our cat, reading, feeding my backyard critters, or exploring new cities. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is sacred and one-of-a-kind and would be honored to walk with you on your journey.
