About My Clients
I specialize in working with professionals from minority backgrounds who are struggling with stress, anxiety, perfectionism, negative self image, relationship issues and depression. I see people who work in tech, artists, doctors, attorneys, teachers, and professors as well as graduate students. I also enjoy working with individuals who want to explore relationship dynamics and opportunities for personal growth.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic style is warm, person centered, non-pathologizing. Using a range of evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, I create customized treatment plans that are tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals. I also practice from a social justice oriented lens, and appreciate each individual’s unique intersectionality. Together we can examine your perceptions and how they were created, gain more clarity on your life experiences, connect you back to your body, find compromise between the different parts of you that may be in conflict, and explore how cultural and generational events have shaped you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Before settling in New York City, I have lived, studied and worked in other parts of the world. I understand the unique challenges faced by those who have relocated to a new country and also those who are adult children of first generation immigrants. Through my work in as a volunteer with crisis hotline, school counselor for an at risk High School and mental health clinician at a community health center, I have developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges that individuals may face when seeking mental health care. I have worked with people from all walks of life, and I bring this diverse perspective to my private practice.
