About My Clients

I offer compassionate and loving psychotherapeutic services to women recovering from childhood abuse and trauma. As a survivor, you may find yourself struggling with various challenges common to someone with a history of trauma, such as codependency, subtle forms of addiction, low self esteem, low self confidence, and estrangement from family and even from yourself. I’m here to help by using my personal experience as a survivor, and 20 years experience in professionally helping other survivors.

My Background and Approach

Over the years, I’ve learned that one of the most important aspects of successful therapy is for me to provide you with a powerful understanding that I’m on your side, and that I’m always going to prioritize your safety as well as your growth. A direct but loving style, combined with my ability to create a safe therapeutic environment, is how I work to help you achieve the goals you’ve brought to our work. I listen carefully and work hard to make sure I understand you before I provide any kind of feedback. I deeply value providing you with a space that is tailored to 100% prioritizing personal insight and growth by always encouraging you to deeply listen to yourself and learn to trust your own insight and wisdom. I often encourage my clients to connect the past with the present, and to explore new strategies that bring your various perspectives together.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My strongest, most passionately held values will probably sound boring and old fashioned but here we are. ;) Personal responsibility is at the top of my list, because of all it encompasses. Taking personal responsibility for ourselves really means identifying with and living into all the other values we have, such as (in my case) equity, equality, justice, compassion, education, curiosity, open-mindedness, integrity, generosity, COURAGE, gratitude, authenticity, assertiveness, and really so many more…too many to list. It has taken me decades to really understand and develop these core values to the level where I feel I can say with any confidence that I live into them. As an autist and a therapist, my superpower is holding you accountable to your goals and values with the tenacity of a bulldog, and the compassion of a boddhisatva. I hold myself to high standards, and those standards extend to your care, and making sure therapy helps you feel better.
