About My Clients

My clients are kind, driven women who are looking for deeper, more meaningful change. They are emotionally aware and curious about diving deeper into therapeutic work. When we start working together, clients are often surprised how quickly things seem to click for them and how quickly they start to feel compassion for parts of themselves they haven’t understood and maybe even hated for a long time… parts of themselves that even past therapy made them feel ashamed of. My approach is different.

My Background and Approach

I draw from multiple evidenced-based frameworks but I have a true love for the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. It is a highly sought after model, for good reason. IFS is used all around the world by health practitioners, psychotherapists, and in the corporate world. It is a client-centered model that fosters self compassion and helps clients heal past wounds. I believe therapy often tries to manage and control the very symptoms that deserve exploration. In the end, this can make us feel worse and ashamed that therapy didn’t “work”. My approach and the IFS framework go about therapy differently. I believe all parts of us are worth being heard. It’s not about fighting and taming our inner critic or anxiety, but about getting to know their story and helping them find a way to help us, not hurt us.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Therapy can be a great way to cultivate a relationship with ourselves. After all, the relationship we have with ourselves is one of the most important ones we will ever have. I believe we live in a society that often demands disconnection from our needs, our emotions, our bodies and each other. We are often pressured to be in a constant state of productivity and giving. I love working with women who are curious about unlearning some of this. I work from a humanistic approach with a heavy dose of self-compassion. I believe everyone has what it takes inside of themselves to heal and move forward when there is enough emotional safety present. I believe our minds and bodies are adapted toward survival. Sometimes, they are still operating in ways that may no longer serve us. Sometimes, it’s helpful to explore this and invite a different way of being.
