About My Clients
It is my joy to be there for you with direct and open conversations and my expertise in helping people who work courageously on creating a better life for themselves, less impacted by anxiety, trauma, OCD and relationship struggles.
My Background and Approach
I have been a clinical therapist for over 12 years now and have worked with people of all ages and many backgrounds. I have helped people overcome the debilitating effects of anxiety as well as trauma, relationship struggles and also particularly obsessive compulsive disorder. I was trained and gained initial experience in community mental health as well as specifically in OCD work at UCSF in San Francisco. Since 2015 I have worked in my own private practice and have added a focus on couples and relationship therapy as I love supporting people in creating relationships where they can thrive. I’m also a member of the LGBTQ community myself and have worked on gaining more experience also in gender and queer issues and currently have many clients who are on their own gender journey and I love being there for them as a passionate supporter.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a clinical social worker I have chosen this particular profession as a foundation for my therapy work because the fight against human oppression and social injustice is at the core of my being. Awareness of systemic oppression in society in its many obvious as well as insidious forms flows through the way I work with people as a therapist. I am a member of the LGBTQ community as well as live with a physical disability myself. These are factors that I have personal and firsthand knowledge in. I’m also a visual artist as well as published writer and apart from therapy work find most of meaning making personally in creativity.
