I have over ten (10) years of experience working with both survivors and perpetrators of domestic violence. I focus on domestic violence and intimate partner psychoeducation, self-acknowledgment and self-validation skill-building, safety planning and trauma exploration and reprocessing to help my clients understand themselves in the context of their relationships and as an individual.

I have over five (5) years of experience working with individuals who are surviving dependency and addiction to alcohol or drugs. My past experience includes working in an outpatient methadone clinic providing case management, relapse preventing planning and individual and group counseling to patients. I currently provide individual, couples, family and group therapy, aftercare treatment planning and cognitive skill-building to patients a subacute care treatment facility.

As a LatinX, gay, nonbinary individual, I have firsthand experience living in the intersectionality of culture, gender, race and sexual orientation. I understand how every individual has his, her or their own life experience and I fully respect each client's unique perspective. I engage in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and gender- and sexuality-affirming care and therapy to help my clients explore the totality of their identities.

I am Level I and II trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy through the Maiberger Institute.

I am a licensed substance abuse counselor with experience in 12-step programs, Refuge Recovery, SMART Recovery and Motivational Interviewing.
