About My Clients
I believe that therapy can not and should not look the same for everybody. In my practice, I like to structure the therapy around you, your needs, and identities. In order to do that, I always take a collaborative and humanistic approach with every client. My goal in each session is to create a safe and judgment free zone so that you can feel free to show up as your authentic self.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is relational- cultural as well as Psychodynamic. I believe it is important to look at the history behind certain patterns that are showing up in your life, so that you can begin to shift these patterns and start living the life you want. This approach helps with identity, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and overall mental wellness. Therapy with me is always from a Multicultural space addressing issues such as: race, marginalization, capitalism, and oppression. I think that identity is important to how we understand ourselves in the world and it is equally important that identity is always a part of the therapeutic work. My goal for you is to have tools to help you stay grounded in your identity and learn more about yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a First generation Nigerian American, I believe that therapy can not and should not look the same for everybody. In my practice, I like to structure the therapy around you, your needs, and identities. My work is inclusive and always from a space of intersectionality.
