About My Clients
I am passionate about collaborating with people who have been underserved- of diverse races/ ethnicities/ nationalities, sexual orientation, gender identities, partnership/family structures, lifestyles, philosophies & faiths. Regardless of mental health, relationship or life concern, if you crave a depth of healing insight, I am highly effective at supporting your process. I work best with those whose greatest satisfaction is found in unique experiences, whether alone or shared with others.
My Background and Approach
Elemental Counseling incorporates my clinical experiences in Community Mental Health, as well as my own growth and insights from Women's groups, Dream analysis, book discussion groups and personal practice. I am attuned to people who have a Nature Based or interfaith spiritual practice, artists, and others who lead unconventional lifestyles. When I completed training at the Trauma Institute and Jennifer Sweeton's Trauma Toolbox, I learned how to best support each person's unique self regulation needs. I also integrate Evidence Based Practices of Multicultural Counseling, Feminist and Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Lindsay Gibson's EIP work, Depth/ Jungian Psychology and IFS. With my multidimensional approach, therapy is relevant and specific to each person's needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I facilitate meaning and positive transformation. With gratitude for sharing each person's unique process, I collaborate with others to support connectedness and self-community advocacy. I dedicated over 20 years partnering with adults 18-80 with mental and physical health conditions, substance use disorders, seekers of refuge, SGAs, BIPOC, AAPI, Latine, Indigenous people, LGBTQ+, kink/ poly, sex positive, and artists/musicians. I love working with people who feel different! I have searched and reunited with birth family, and volunteered with a search/ reunion peer support group. As relationships change and grow, I continue to expand the meaning and value of the the myriad systems called family. Through processing with my spiritual mentor from Women's groups, I healed from secondary trauma and grew in helping others heal. My first career was in Costuming. This was the place I discovered beauty in every body, color, gender identity, lifestyle, cultural and social background.
