About My Clients

We are all survivors of something- our childhood, families, breakups, careers, and other experiences. Therapy is an excellent way to examine those relationships, rewrite our stories and reconnect with our true selves in a liberating and life-transforming way. All of you is welcome--heart, body, mind and soul.

My Background and Approach

Graduating in 2013, I received my Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland. The depth of my training allows me to work effectively with a variety of concerns related to mood disorders and trauma. I’m dedicated to promoting emotional health and wellbeing. I am a certified trauma therapist. I use cognitive behavioral, EMDR, trauma-focused, mindfulness and evidence-based practices to help you overcome challenges and gain a sense of greater control in your life. I partner with you in therapy using an integrative and holistic approach to explore how the past might be alive in the present, how your body holds your stories, and how new awareness brings positive change in your emotions, thoughts, relationships and overall life. As a bilingual (English-Spanish) and bicultural therapist, I am familiar with the complexities of growing and adjusting to a new culture, the challenges of raising multicultural children and going through transitional phases.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I offer a non-judgmental, safe and confidential space in which you can talk openly about thoughts and feelings in a way which might not be possible with friends or family. Together we will develop an understanding of what bothers you and why. Through this process you can gain a sense of greater control and better understanding of your thoughts and feelings. In therapy, new awareness brings the ability to change old habits and patterns that are no longer working for you. You will learn tools to find experiences of safety and grounding in your body at a pace that is comfortable and safe for you. Over time, you will come to a place of greater stability and ease. My approach to therapy is gentle and compassionate, yet direct and insightful, and each session can bring lasting and powerful insight and results. I see beauty in diversity and enjoy working with people of all races, genders, cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations.
