Those who are undergoing significant life transitions. I work with many young adults as they navigate role changes and self growth and developing adequate adulting skills to thrive in their new roles. I work with transgender persons undergoing varying levels of transition and coping with gender fluidity. Also, those changing careers, going through divorce. moving, creating families or whose children are leaving home.

I have been a gay rights activist, an HIV/AIDS activist, HIV test counselor, Sexual minority cultural specialist and have worked with and for the LGBTQIA+ community throughout my career. As a transmasc person and long time member of the LGBTQ+ community I offer understanding of the issues unique to us .

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is also transgender, I bring a unique perspective and firsthand understanding of the experiences, challenges, and nuances of being transgender. My personal experience with gender identity and the journey I have gone through can provide a deep level of empathy, connection, and understanding with my transgender clients. I can offer a safe, non-judgmental, and affirming space for individuals who are questioning their gender identities.

I believe we as humans strive to find meaning in our lives in everything we do and in every interaction we have. We need meaningful relationships, work and social activities in order to be healthy and when we don’t have meaning we become unhappy, overwhelmed, depressed or addicted. In addition to my existentialist toolkit, I have many other therapeutic tools I can use to help clients achieve their mental health goals. I tailor my style on my client’s needs and interpersonal styles.

I possess a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted nature of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and more. I am knowledgeable about the various cognitive, emotional, and behavioral manifestations of anxiety, as well as the underlying neurobiological and environmental factors that can contribute to its development.
