Using primarily CBT along with some mindfulness, I help my clients develop ways to express their feelings and useful strategies to cope with those feelings.

Indigenous and non-industrial cultures often understood the importance of this, and facilitated this critical process with an initiatory experience. As the child begins to define their identity, they go through a natural albeit sometimes tumultuous process of differentiating themselves from others. For teens, having a supportive environment to share their experiences can set them up for an emotionally healthy future. Therapy can be an important part of that, especially when there are regular mood or behavioral challenges that the teen is experiencing.
