My clients often begin therapy citing anxious and/or depressive symptoms tied to complex concerns challenging their pursuits of meaningful living. Some have difficulties managing stress related to their relationships, work/study, and/or identity. Some struggle with the loss of someone or something important. Others feel rudderless, uncertain about how to steer their life in a more fulfilling direction. I have also had success helping people with past negative therapy/psychiatric experiences.
I work with adults with depression, anxiety, managing neurodivergency, and unlearning of colonized mindsets. I especially love working with clients on developing healthier relationships with their partners, family, friends, and in the workplace. I also work with children, teens and families regarding school aged issues and a side of parenting coaching and mental health psychoeducation.
I specialize in working with queer and trans people coping with anxiety, depression, and concerns of daily life. I am also polyamory friendly and ready to support people navigating open relationships. I might be a good fit for you! My approach to counseling is collaborative, meaning that I hope to build a relationship with you so that we can tackle your goals together. For trans and GNC clients, I am ready to write the letter in a single session if you’re needing it.
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.
I will help you get curious and see if there are new ways of looking inside with more compassion and kindness. You will feel heard, seen, and validated. Therapy can be hard work, but it is absolutely worth it when you begin to see yourself through more loving and compassionate eyes. Our work together will allow you to heal and trust yourself, and build the confidence to reach your goals.
Are you terrified about having a difficult conversation with a loved one? Do you struggle with being honest about yourself for fear of rejection? Are you hurting in your relationship and don't know how to share this with your partner or partners? We can work through these difficult navigations, and I am very difficult to shock, so let me support you in getting open about those hard topics.
I have worked with many clients who came in frightened by trauma, anxiety, addictions & more. It is such a pleasure to watch clients conquer these negative experiences and feel whole again. We work with everyday stresses, addiction, life difficulties or relationships with women, men, couples and adolescent young women. We have heard "It feels like a miracle," "this is life-changing", and "I've come so far," Most say they're pleased with how quickly we 'tuned in' to just what they needed.
Did you grow up in a controlling, high-demand religious environment? The adverse experiences in this type of setting can lead to feeling like you don't know who you are or what you believe. You may feel torn apart, like there are multiple versions of you in different settings. This can affect the way you treat romantic partners, coworkers, and authority figures. You may also feel conflicted about your identity, your sexuality, and even your body.
Are you a teenager who is scared and worried most of the time? Are you unsure of how to get through tomorrow, let alone plan for the future? Do you have a general sense of unease in your body and you can't quite figure out what's wrong? It feels like no one is listening. Maybe people still treat you like a child, even though you're almost an adult. If this is you, I can help!
Are you looking for attuned support to explore your struggles? Do you wish to become mindful of how your life history impacts your present experience? Are you interested in intuitive and spiritual practices, and holistic supports (including food, herbs)? If these questions resonate with you, reach out to me! I offer relationship-focused therapy, drawing from wisdom traditions and holistic approaches.
I work with adults of any gender or gender identity and/or sexual orientation. My areas of specialty are: Relationships / Marriage / Divorce / Dating; Premarital Counseling, Adult ADHD, High-functioning Autism (Asperger's), Grief & Loss, Trauma (PTSD), Anxiety (ruminations), Social Anxiety, Depression, Work Stress/Burnout (especially in the tech industry), Mid-life Realignment (it's only a crisis if you have ignored this) and Men's/ Male-identified Issues.
My clients come from a wide variety of backgrounds. I have experience working with different communities and subcultures that can be marginalized. I provide a non-judgmental empathetic space to support discussing challenging and often taboo subjects, allowing individuals to address the difficult, challenging or traumatic parts of their experiences in the world.
My clients are successful professionals who, despite their external success, often feel hampered by their private thoughts. They are frequently people on edge and who spend too much time analyzing the day's or past conversations, rehashing them repeatedly. Often these thoughts get in the way of their relationship, hobbies, and enjoying life to its fullest. I use cognitive and mindfulness technics to help people finding a new way forward.
If you're someone who's feeling lonely, depressed, and lost and confused about who you are. You may be at a crossroads of knowing some or all of your identities but unsure how they all fit. I get it, and my therapy is centered around you and your lived experience. I want you to know that there is hope for you, you are not alone and together we can make helpful changes and work towards your best self. The highest compliment a client can give me is "you get me"
Many of my clients see themselves as introverted, creative and/or highly sensitive. I work with people facing a variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, shyness, self-criticism, life transitions, difficulty in relationships, and the effects of racism, sexism, homophobia, and trauma. // Note that I'm considered an out-of-network provider by all insurance carriers.
I work primarily with adults over 30 years of age. A few of my specialties include working with: depression, trauma, grief, codependency, major life-transitions, betrayal, anxiety, as well as process addictions (behavioral addictions). In addition, I have a passion for those who identify as Highly Sensitive and Anxious Attachment styles.
I specialize in working with people from marginalized populations who have struggled to accept themselves and be accepted by others. I work from a sex positive perspective and with a Healthy at Every Size philosophy. I have experience with people who identify as LGBTQ+, non-gender conforming, non-monogamous, polyamorous, kinky, and those who live with chronic disability or illness. I specialize in working with adolescents, and adults, as well as people going through life transitions.
We all have such an immense capacity to love, but also to hurt. The chances are high that our experience of any degree of emotional disruption in our lives can be traced back to relationships in some way, shape, or form. Anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, low self-esteem, addiction.. these are all too familiar when we are struggling. Whether it's your partner, friend, parent, boss, or sibling, I can help you rediscover your strengths and find your way back to happiness. I can help you thrive.
I enjoy working with individuals, couples, families, and parents. Helping others overcome their current difficulties and function better in their life and relationships is my goal. Life can be difficult at times for all of us. I'm good at listening to your concerns, offering support and compassion, and then working with you to find ways to sit with and work through the feelings you're having. Together, we can find a pathway toward enjoying life.
I serve adults ages 21 and over. You may be working toward cultivating a more positive relationship with yourself. You may be experiencing anxiety due to painful and stressful life experiences. You may be feeling destabilized due to isolation, lack of structure, panic attacks, or trauma history. Are you striving for a more fulfilling life and recognize that you are ready for a change? I can partner with you as you align your life with your aspirations and pursue your goals.
