Abby has completed advanced training as a Perinatal Mental Health Professional. Over the years Abby has developed a passion for supporting women in the exploration of their identity amid major life changes, including career changes, becoming a parent, intimate partner betrayal, or experiencing a loss. Abby also focuses on supporting folks struggling in their reproductive journey. This often includes perinatal loss, fertility challenges, perinatal mood and anxiety.
My Background and Approach
Abby earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gonzaga University and is currently licensed to practice in both Washington and Texas. Throughout her career she has prioritized fostering strong therapeutic relationships built on compassion for self and others. Practicing from a trauma informed, integrative approach, Abby uses many therapeutic modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Abby also focuses on supporting folks struggling in their reproductive journey. This often includes perinatal loss, fertility challenges, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and navigating termination of a pregnancy. Most recently, Abby has committed to supporting those navigating the challenging legislation and abortion bans which has led to complicated feelings including institutional betrayal for many. She is committed to supporting her clients in navigating these challenges with intention, understanding and confidence. As a Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) and mother herself Abby has significant experience in early childhood development and mental health. This gives her a unique ability to support parents not only in their growth and wellbeing but additionally, the growth and wellbeing of their children. Abby is an inclusive and affirming clinician who empowers her clients to explore their stories through a nonjudgmental lens that supports vulnerability and growth.
