About My Clients
I specialize in serving LGBTQ+ teens/young adults and am a member of the queer community myself. I have extensive experience working with young people on the Autism spectrum. I also developed the "Mentally Healthy Student Program": an innovative, wraparound coaching+counseling service for teens with both academic and mental health needs.
My Background and Approach
Beyond these focus areas, I have worked with a wide variety of clients facing identity questions, anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, adjustment challenges, etc. and create a treatment plan based on each client's unique needs. I have extensive training in core evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and parent management training and experience implementing these modalities in community agency, school-based, and private practice settings. In our work together, you will learn coping+relaxation skills, deepen your self-compassion, build strength+confidence, and progress towards your personal goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a queer person and actively participate and support the LGBTQ+ community. I am also a constantly striving to learn more and be a better ally for POC communities. I support the Black Lives Matter Movement and have participated in racial justice protests. At the same time, I recognize that as a white person, I will never fully understand the reality of racism endured by BIPOC individuals and strive to be an active listener. I identify as politically, socially, and personally liberal. In my spare time, I can be found writing poetry, running, spending time with my partner, enjoying the outdoors, or playing with my dog.
