About My Clients
I work primarily with clients who struggle with symptoms related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use disorders. I also work especially well with clients who have childhood and family relationship trauma, relationship issues, and adult children of immature/unwell/addicted parents. I work with clients 18-65, I have loved practicing therapy with adults from many different walks of life. Ideally, clients I work with are interested in learning, skills-based therapy and intensive therapy
My Background and Approach
I am passionate about helping clients make changes in their lives, and achieve their goals through support, clinical skill, and a genuine working relationship. I approach clinical therapy through emphasis on the impact that client's beliefs, relationship with their emotions, and habits/behaviors have on their lives. When clients understand this impact completely, they are equipped to make deep meaningful changes in their lives. I'm considered straight forward, compassionate, genuine, and encouraging. I use cognitive behavior therapy, cognitive processing therapy, dialectic behavior therapy skills training, and internal family systems approaches to help clients heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues (just to name a few).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my spare time, I have served as a consultant for families with loved ones suffering from substance use disorders and helped those families to identify resources and structure difficult interventions. I have also served as a medical advocate for survivors of sexual assault undergoing forensic evaluations. I enjoy audio books, philosophical conversations, playing table-top and video games, spending quality time with my family, and being in nature. I also appreciate art, innovative research, and interior design. I'm mom to two cats and a great dane, values irreverent humor and laughter, and deep meaningful relationships. Lastly, I grew up in Colorado, went to school in New Orleans, LA, and currently live in Georgia. I work 100% remotely and love it.
