I am Meadows Model and PIT trained in co-dependency and co-dependency recovery. I worked in a Meadows facility for nearly two years were I provided ongoing codependency treatment to individuals living with trauma and addiction.
I have additional certification and training through California State University East Bay in Chemical Dependency Treatment. I have also been working in facilities providing addiction treatment since 2015. I have often served as the dual diagnosis specialist for former employers and recognize the complex interplay between addiction, trauma and mental health disorders.
In becoming an addiction specialist, you quickly learn it is often the symptom of a larger issue: trauma. I have had extensive training and mentorship in treating traumatic disorders through UC Berkeley's trauma certification program, ongoing supervision and ongoing EMDR training. I strongly believe that addressing and treating trauma is critical to providing clients with lasting recovery.
I have been trained in EMDR, and am EMDRIA member and am continuing my training with ongoing clinical supervision in order to obtain certification.
I trained under psychodynamic clinicians and have a strong developmental trauma focus in my practice. I strongly believe that most people carry the experiences and relationships dynamics they experienced during childhood into their adults. Sometimes we need support in making these connections and developing new patterns.
I have additional training in CBT through JFK University. I find CBT to provide a strong foundation of coping skills that allow patients to provide relief for current and ongoing stressors, anxiety and depression.
