About My Clients
I have the pleasure of seeing all kinds of people in my practice. I see men, women, adolescents and couples. People who are seeking change or who are experiencing transition often come to me to process these unique circumstances. I see folks who have experienced racialized trauma, microaggressions, bias, and racism. I see professionals who need support in supporting others in their high profile positions. I see parents and those who are on a fertility journey. I also support those in recovery.
My Background and Approach
I am proficient in helping clients who live with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance (mis)use, and racial trauma. We will always work together- I don’t know more about you than you do! I believe that diagnosis and pathology are not necessary parts of the therapy process, though they may provide a framework for some of the work we do together. In short, you are NOT your “anxiety” or “depression.” Together, we will move towards LIVING with your depression/anxiety, not limiting yourself because of it. I believe people get well when they share a sense of community with others, live with presence, and trust their internal “tugs.” I help people recover from maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors: you are enough. I can help you establish boundaries. I can help empower you to rid yourself of people pleasing, negative self talk, vocational distress, stage of life changes, limiting beliefs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Mental health is a universal issue. As they say, “no one gets out unscathed.” However, in marginalized communities, the symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc., are often compounded by the difficulties of daily living. Whether you are someone living with the daily struggles of racial trauma or someone who lives with body differences, I am an ally and advocate on your journey. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally, gender affirmative, and sexually expansive practitioner. I want you to live your life to the fullest; you are worthy and deserving of unbiased mental health care.
